Since 1818, the people of Halifax have come together to experience Handel’s Messiah, performed by Halifax Choral Society. Generations have been inspired by its joyous Christmas proclamation — “For unto us a child is born” — and moved by the majestic “Hallelujah Chorus.” This year marks the Society’s 207th consecutive annual performance of this timeless masterpiece, presented with the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra in the evocative setting of Halifax’s historic medieval Minster.
